It was peeking out from under my bed and I spent the past hour trying to vacuum it out. I finally was able to get it out of my apartment.

My question is, I live in a highrise building with AC wall units and have never seen a single bug over the past 3 years, but last night my AC was making noise so I removed the two cleanable filters in it overnight which stopped the noise. These filters are about 1’x1’ and slide into the AC unit vertically, with a 1” cover on the top that closes shut.

Do you guys think there’s any chance the cockroach came through there?

Probably came from dirty neighbors. And remember if you see one, there are probably thousands you haven't seen. Sleep tight.

I doubt there are thousands. I checked my entire bedroom floor and didn’t see any more. This is the first I’ve seen in 3 years.

Just beware...if you freak out and try to move to a different place...odds are, you’ll be moving them with you.........

Get yourself a fly swatter to keep close by, or maybe some "roach motels".
Try and avoid use of toxic insecticide sprays.

One of those electric rackets would be fun too. Actually I want to convert one of those to use 18650 cells for an extra kick. Technically I should be able to simply replace the 2xAA battery holder with a single 18650 holder. Close enough voltage. :p

A cockroach popped out of your air conditioner?

You ain't seen nothing yet! I found a nest of baby Opossums in mine. Cute little shits, but, just like my last girlfriend, had to go. As for a 'roach, don't be a pussy. Pick it up and flush it down the toilet. You don't need a toilet, but it helps.

I do have carpet in the bedroom, but hardfloor everywhere else. Im also a pretty clean person. I checked all floors/nooks tonight and didn’t see anymore.

They are the type that hide in dark places, you generally don't see them out in the open. They need water so make sure there's no source for that, food is the same. Get some glue traps.

You're problem may not be of your making, but if I read where you live right someone else in your building could be a slob that's housing these monsters.

Please, Two feet from my bedroom window I see a rat festival at night. Call the property manager to get your place treated & be glad you aren’t me.

Locked into a new lease and had no idea the neighborhood is infested with rats:(

i remember vividly back when I was a kid and we lived in some slumlord apartment and turning on the lights to the kitchen only to see tons and tons of roaches something like the scene in the movie Creepshow, I still have that memory clear as day. Oh and the other gross roach(Big brown palmetto bugs) story, we were in one of those small plastic pools you fill up with the garden hose. As we were in and laying back we started to feel something in our hair and when we went to scratch it was several large roaches that crawled on our hands, and to our horror roaches were crawling up from the grass and into the pool. Holy shit I still remember those two incidents even today.

But seriously, I think you probably carried one home on your clothes during your travels. I wouldn't worry about an infestation.
