I don't know where RossMAN found that deal at but I configured an AMD lappy (link is here - just scroll down a little to the Inspiron 1501) with the above for $579 total (free shipping and before tax) by only upgrading to MCE and the screen and nothing else on the computer. 512MB and 60GB HD BTW.

ETA - RossMAN posted the link below and it's a much better deal. His deal has 1GB ram and an 80GB HD.

You have 3 choices:

• XP Media Center Edition 2005 or XP Profession with no Vista upgrade
• XP MCE 2005 with Express Upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium for $10.
• XP Professional with Express Upgrade to Windows Vista Business for $10.

The 2nd choice is the best as it offers both MCE 2005 and Vista Home Premium for $10 more.

Remeber there is a Vista Home Basic and Home Premium. I think Premium only adds the "Alero" interface.

My point is with the AMD deal you get BOTH MCE 2005 and Vista Home Premium. XP Home is not an option.

not the Toshiba 50" plasma. that's actually a good deal for 1699. Regular BB price is 2799. But i just checked ebay, its selling for 1600 - 2000, so profit margin is pretty low
