Are blunt nose knives easy to find?

they are more expensive. if you're poor, the cheapest knives at the dollar store are the pointy ones

If he's holding the knife like that he's also facing it upwards at times. I yell at my wife all the time to not hold knives facing upward while walking to the table, etc. One mis-step and up it goes right into your face.

Bread knives aren't pointy. Why can't those be used?

It's the same reaction that almost got my hand slices open. i was working with one of those 7" blades on some meat and i dropped it. Well stupid me grabbed for it, of course the blade not the handle. Left me a nice mark, but no gushers, let go in another reflex second when i felt skin tearing as the blade bit into my hand. Reflexes suck some times 🙁. My condolences 🙁

Try this with something like a pen and you'll see that it can be pretty easy to do.

Wow, I just tried that with a pen. I jerked my left hand back very quickly and my right, pen holding hand, jerked back with it naturally. Creepy.
