just realized I upgraded my video card and made money.

Why are we doing all of this 3rd card comparisons? There's actually info on the web where people have tested the 7850 and the 6950 and given us a direct comparison. Then they've O/C'd the 7850 and shown us the improvement.

For you people who want to point out that it's not an upgrade from a 680 to a 7850. Thank You Captain Obvious. You are only seeing 1/2 the story though. The others who are having this argument over the difference between a 6950 and a 7850 have gotten past your position. Go with them.

Lol I like how these threads become flamefests very quickly. He was just commenting on the money he made. Congratulations, OP, it's what happens when supply is short.

If it is not 33% or more improvement, it is waste of time and money. Unless you are hardcore overclocker and doing it for sake of doing it.

If card A does 30fps on a game you play, then 10 or 20 % increase won't make it any more playable.

So you're saying if you owned a 6950 and someone said, "I'll give you a new 7850 and $20 for beers for your 6950." You'd tell them to go away until they had something that was at minimum 33% faster than what you already have?

Or is there some other point you are making that I've missed? 😛

I think the OP is smart and would do well on that show Storage Wars. He bought low and sold high. He's a businessman.

As for the 7850 being over hyped, it's pretty much all that we've got at the $250 price point, and it does offer better than average value once you overclock it. It's very rare to see 45% overclocks on a GPU. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a GPU that overclocks as well.

Not a fan of people who overcharge people for video cards like the 680. If i had a 680 and was selling it i would easily sell it for what i paid for it not 100 dollars more.

No one put a gun to their head. They wanted the card and had money to spend.

Nice. I also don't think you ripped someone off. Not everyone want to check retailers for stock every few minutes/hours just to get one. He got what he want and you got paid nicely a win-win for my book.

Did you really make $20, or did you pay for shipping on the cards when you sold them?

Have fun with your new card. At least you'll save money in the long run if you don't overclock.
