Just ordered a new GS4 for $320

They'll all get cancelled.

Except many have reported being shipped.

I did in-store pickup. Got my phone in 30 mins and called to cancel account, $0 in fees. Playing with it now. In-store pickup is only available in some states. I paid $320+tax. Using the phone on Straight Talk.

So dead deal? 🙁

Still working for me.
Pick GS4 on top left pick month to month.
Add 450 min plan and 300MB data. Go to cart and it should show 50% off the phone.

You can do in-store pickup in some states (I did). Otherwise you would have to get it shipped. Overnight shipping might be best to avoid a cancellation?

This looks legit. Best option for me would be to get it for pickup (corporate store is three minutes away), and cancelled as soon as I got home.

Very tempted to get the GS4 for the wife (I just got my HTC One a month ago about half price as well, by trading in three old phones).

Now to decide if you want a GS4, HTC One, or iPhone 5 🙂.

I took the GS4.

How did you get local pickup -- I tried the option, it showed a bunch of stores that it was In Stock at, but didn't give me the option to select any stores.

Edit, seem to not work on the Black 32GB version of SGS4 :O

In-store pickup is only available in Chicago and Washington. It is being tested and not nationwide.

Same thing here. Seems in-store pick-up only works for certain area.
I'm in Orlando Fl.

Going to try this in SF right now. Getting on my fiancé's family plan in august, and I have to bring my own phone. A galaxy s4 for 320+tax would be awesome.

Hmm only works for the iphone 5 16Gb for me, pretty tempted to pick this up as it would only be 100$ with my early discount.

I got the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. I'm hoping that it can be hacked to work on T-Mobile's network. It should, right? All the specs are the same except for the camera.

If I understand this correctly... you buy the phone at half price with a 2 year contract, then call AT&T to cancel the contract after it ships?

And what is to prevent AT&T from charging an early termination fee? This seems a little too good.

You have to select the month to month plan when you sign up. In theory since you've chosen it there is no termination fee because you pay 50% of full retail, not contract pricing.

Buying it with a 2-year contract and half the price *is* the actual deal that's being marketed. This makes the phone priced e.g. $99 from the regular price of $199, but you have to sign a new 2-year contract.

What people have been talking about is when you choose to create a new account without a contract / month-to-month (and therefore have to pay for the full price of the phone), the promo also takes off 50% (e.g. $320 from the regular price of $640). Now, when you created a new month-to-month account buying a full price phone, if you cancel the account within three days, you can keep the phone (since you paid for it in full - though in this case, for 50% off because of the promo).

I'm thinking about getting an HTC One with the month to month deal for $320 (or so).

The problem I'm worried about is I want to use this on T-Mobile. So I'd need to get it unlocked. Could there be a problem getting the phone unlocked by AT&T if I cancel that 2 year contract immediately?

AT&T probably won't unlock it for you, but unlocking the HTC One is ~$3.50 on eBay. No problem.

Be careful though and you might want to read the slickdeals thread posted in the OP as people have been getting inconsistent experiences when they're trying to cancel. Canceling within 3 days is legit, and it's in the rules, but you might have to fight a little bit if you're unlucky enough to get a clueless (or overzealous) CS person (in store or on the phone). So just be aware that there might be a little hassle coming with it (or not).
