Im still considering this car for myself, but the lack of a trunk is the biggest holdback for me.

When i go home and visit my parents, we typically fill up my Passat.....

If you just travel by yourself or with another person, you can fold the seats back and have a decent amount of cargo space.

I have my Fiancee and a 40lb pup.... So at most, we could only put one seat down. Im sure its possible for me to fit alot in, its just coming home for the holidays, my Passat's trunk was stuffed, the floorspace behind the seats was stuffed, and one rear seat was almost filled to the roof.

Also, another downfall for me was that the closest dealer is over an hour and a half away.

Question, how tall are you? Is height a problem for these cars? (leg room etc)

I'm 5'11 at first my head was touching the ceiling, but I just lowered the seat, and it wasn't a problem. As for the backseat looked like there as much legroom as you would see in a coupe. Not too shabby.

Sweet thats not bad at all! BTW Congrats on the purchase!!!

yall have two?!?!

on another note, i don't think the normal version should be called MINI Cooper, and the sport version be called MINI Coooper S. i think the normal should be MINI, and the sport be MINI Cooper.

MINI is the brand and Cooper is the model.

there is the Mini ONE in europe which is cheaper than the Mini Cooper and less powerful too. They won't sell that one here.

That one wouldn't be too bad since it uses a diesel engine.

I have one dealer 5 minute away, the other is about 25...and prices are still jacked.

Cool little cars, but only at MSRP... not the inflated prices they demand :)

The price you pay for being out west. You could always buy it in NY and roadtrip back home, or have it delivered for $500.

Waste of money. You could spend $1000 and get better performance than a $5000 + installation JCW kit.

i know how BMW is doing it, but the original, MINI was the car and Cooper was the sport package

It's $5000 INSTALLED, and it comes with a 2 year warranty + adds value to the car as it's an endorsed upgrade, unlike any hack job you could do.

Uhh... The kit retails for $4650 plus tax plus 10 hour of labor ($165/hr on the west coast, $105/hr here)

If I'm not mistaken, there is a flat rate for installation (at least here in the midwest) from the dealership. The price I got was $4500 + $500 to install (4-5 hours of labor).

All labor is by the book, which is standardized, so it is a flat rate, but the price per hour can be different.

The Chili Red looks awesome in person. It's almost like they added extra paint to the car.
