I've been so happy with mine. Best part; it was free!

How was it free? I would like free eye surgery too!:|

The old medical from my wife's union covered it @ 100%. I had it done on the 2nd to the last day before the new contract went in to effect, and the new medical didn't cover it.. My wife was too scurred. So she still has her contacts (sucker!). This was a year ago September.

The process was painless, albeit wierd IMHO.

I apparently was an anomaly, as my eyes "hurt" like fvck a few hours later. They tell you to just go to sleep afterwards, which I tried to do. But based on the appointment time, I wasn't the least bit tired. They say it feels like sand in your eyes. I say it felt like a whole damn beach.

I finally did fall asleep, then woke up around 3 in the am cuz our daughter was crying. I was like, "OMGWTFBBQ! I can see!!!"

cool i've had glasses since 2nd grade too. What was your vision at before the surgery and are you currently at 20/20? Any sort of after effects? halos or whatnot?

I'm considering getting lasik, but haven't seriously researched it yet.

my old vision was awful...I couldn't even see the huge "E" lol. I'm supposed to have halos for about a week or so then they'll go away. My vision now is awesome.

I first got glasses in 2nd grade, too. But there is a funny story behind it.

We were given a vision test in school. The test was simple enough; look through this viewer window of a machine, look at a series of triangles, then tell the lady which direction that each triangle corner faced when she pointed to it using the tip of a pencil. The answers were; up, down, right, left.

I didn't understand what I was supposed to be looking for or what she was pointing at, so I just made up the answers. My vision was actually well enough to pass the test with flying colors, had I known what I was supposed to be looking for.

I got every answer wrong. They must have thought I was blind. lol!
