Thanks. I have to admit that the kids and I are feeling better ourselves just having the surgery behind us. The anesthesia and the dangers associated with the surgery were almost as scary as the cancer itself. My daughter (our baby) cried the first few times she looked at her mom (bawled when mom called her from across the room), but once she was able to have a convo with her she settled down. My boys are typical boys and were happy mom was doing ok but bored as hell in the hospital.

Kristy is doing really well. Before I brought the kids home last night she'd been up and walked a bit and was doing her breathing treatments. Her normal personality was even shining through the pain and drugs (i.e. fiesty). She may get one or two of her IVs and the stomach tube out today if the doctor can hear her bowel sounds. She was hungry and thirsty last night but she can't have anything until tomorrow at the soonest. That's going to cause her some frustration, but it's a good sign that she's feeling somewhat normal again.

I'll write more later, I need to get a quick workout in before we head back to the hospital.

Best wishes to you both and your families - hopefully her stay in the hospital this week goes smoothly! All the best. Sending positive thoughts your way 🙂

Hang in there Megatomic. My wife and I both came through major surgeries this last winter. Hope you wife is doing better.

Final Update: She came home today. All the staples were removed and the JP drain was pulled. I'm so relieved to have her here. Her doctor has given her a clean bill of health as the biopsy came back exactly as he anticipated. The surrounding tissues were free of mutant cells so it didn't spread to any other organs. The surgical wounds are all healing quickly, too. A few weeks of convalescence and she'll be her old self again.

I'm so happy for her, and well all of us. Life has been miserable since memorial day. Now we can move forward with more pleasant things to do and think about. And hopefully this is it for her and serious illness for a LONG time. It's someone else's turn for a change. Thank you all for your support and prayers.

Great news! I'm really glad to hear that things worked out so well.

Now start planning how you two are going to live it up! Make plans to take some trips, do some things you've always wanted to.

Our first order of business is our family vacation from 7/30 to 8/10. We were gonna do something cool and I was going to compete in my first triathlon, but now we're just gonna go and chill at home in Upstate NY instead. That's where her family is and they've been worried sick about her, so this'll be good for everyone. The hills are very calming to us so we'll get some much needed peace out of this trip.

After that, who knows... I'm just glad to know that's she's gonna be around for a while. 🙂

Great news, fantastic. I was a little shaken when I saw the words "final update" but thank goodness it didn't mean what I was afraid it meant.

Congrats, and I love the upstate NY hills. A great place to spend some quality time.

Good luck! Here's to no metastasis!
