Thought I'd post some "before" pics of my parents' street, these are from Christmas Day 2004, when it snowed (a rare event in NO -- should've taken it as a sign!).

Yep I have thought a lot about Christmas Day 2004 when it snowed the first time ever in New Orleans on Christmas Day! Really was amazing and came down very heavy for a good 10 to 30 minutes around here in Kenner. It was cool and amazing.
Though after Hurricane Katrina like you were saying you should of taking it as a sign I keep on thinking the same thing.
Woah, just noticed this thread was bumped. Anyways, something of an update, family still in BR, parents house is still there in same condition. Still waiting on FEMA/SBA loans. Grandmother's house has been gutted, waiting for latest elevation maps to raise it and start rebuilding. Cat has gained back lost wait and is happy and healthy. Other cat never reappeared, my mom buried a cat carcass that was in the backyard a couple months ago, though.
Been back twice since OP(Thanksging and Christmas).
I'm going back down for Mardi Gras, will update with the very important Mardi Gras pics. 🙂
Oh yeah, has everyone seen this picture of Bush in New Orleans today?
