wow 🙁

This thread has managed to do more than the hours and hours of media coverage...my heart goes out to you, your family, and your communities.

I hope people can see the DIS-service the Media of this Country now.

It is an absolute pathetic joke. Nothing but sensationlsm of what they feel would be best for their ratings. Look how they push the Bourbon St beating for example.

Thanks you for your post and experience Werk.

Best wishes to you and your family in the rebuilding process.

There really are no words for what you see in those pictures. I can only imagine what it feels like to you and your family. :brokenheart: Here's hoping for speedy and complete resolution for your parents and grandmother.

Wow. Amazing pictures, thank you for sharing. Good luck to you and your family rebuilding and getting your lives back to normal.

That mold growth is amazing. It looks like those houses haven't been lived in in 20 years. 🙁

Thats what i said too after seeing these pics.. mold and rust... amazing. The news clips just dont really have the same impact as seeing it from this perspective.

Wow, what a mess. I guess they'll have to bulldoze that house and start over if you want to stay there huh?

Glad to hear at least one of your cats made it!

Good luck!

I know it's a real disaster, but I'm honestly surprised to see that many trees still standing.
Those pics are mind blowing.

Although it has been said before... Wow, that mold damage is simply amazing.

Hope everything works out for the best.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. As my father has said -- being Acadian-descended helps you take adversity with good humor, not to mention be stubborn. They will rebuild and live in New Orleans, if not in Lakeview, in another area of the city. I'm looking into several job opportunities in the area as well, so that my gf and I can move back too. We're thankful that everyone is OK and for what keepsakes (and pets! 😉) we were able to save!

I really wish I could've gotten pics of the trees stacked on West End. I was amazed there were still any standing, but the neighborhood was previously much greener.

Holy nuts thats a lot of damage. At least you guys got out of there and are all safe, especially kittah.

Lol through the seriousness of this thread your post was all puns 😛 Picture of a gorilla, name is ironcrotch and you say "holy nuts". Lol made me laugh

I was going to make a joke using selective quoting about Ratty eating the other cat, but while I was typing, those images were loading in the background and, well, it really just doesn't seem that funny anymore. 🙁

Damn.. that sucks..

That house looks like a lot of what the abandoned buildings looked like in Half Life 2..
