Well, I agree that is a dick move, but 'hon' strikes me as something an overweight 50+ mother or a hick waitress in one of those crappy traincar diners would say.

Look, Hon; I've been to the Sexual Harassment class, the EEO Class and all that crap. What say you just forget about going home tonight, come to my place and give me the good thing. Then you can get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich.

Sound good, cutie?

Nah, those waitresses are usually nicer than that. ;)

Seriously, though, no need to get up in arms about a name. I love it when n00bs take the intarweb too seriously.

If you call someone "hon" it could easily be taken as some sort of sarcasm. I hate it when someone calls me "guy" or "friend" etc...

i guess this person would rather i called them a$$hole.

My best friend's grilfriend is like that...

I use tend to ignore stupid people who get offended by crap like that... I call women "luv", as being irish i grew up with the idioms of the language...

N.American women tend to be really "empowered" or some such shyte when it comes to endearments from people they don't know... it's as if acceping a compliment makes them weak or something...

Are there coupons available? If not, I will offer to take back the next gallon of OJ if I can get a discount.
