just got a PM from someone telling me not to call them "hon"

It wouldn't bother me, but a lot of people will take it negatively if you don't know them personally.

that would have been a good reply, but i said i would call him whatever i wanted b/c this is the internet and his username isn't even his real name.

 
I get pissed when people call me "hon." Of course, I've only been called that in a condescending manner. I flipped out on the fiancee the first time she called me "honey." Set her in her place...then slept on the couch.
