If and when you do get a chance to put a bullet in them, I'll be cheering for you when you get back to tell us all about it. Dont feel ashamed for a second for permanently injuring or possibly killing these bastards. I dont care how much their daddy beat them when they were growing up, if they touch my stuff, theyre as good as dead. Two less criminals.

wow. what an interesting read. i just hope nothing happens unexpectedly against ya.

haha you know....if you ever get the chance to keep them alive....you should tie them up in some funny pose and make a MasterCard commercial something along the lines of:

"Shotgun:$200
NightVision Goggles: $870
2 burglars caught breaking and entering while <insert funny pose here>:

PRICELESS"

:)

I doubt you'll actually have to shoot. Well, shoot to kill anyways. I bet they'll just bolt when they see the gun - and you can't really shoot them in the back. IMO, go for a leg takedown. Nice and quick, and they can enjoy that wonderful feeling of their kneecaps exploding when you shoot them out.

you need to relax.

making a leap from noticing a van driving around the neighborhood to planning how to kill a home-invasion robber is quite a leap.

Yeah, but then I spend more tax dollars keeping them in a five star hotel with three squares a day, cable TV, and a workout room that surpasses anything my local Y has.

No, if they feel the need to steal my stuff they need to pay for it.

Then they're still alive..they sue, and retire rich..criminals, but rich anyways..assuming their lawyer doesn't take it all.

Interesting point. I've heard this before. Not "make sure they're in the house before you shoot", but "make sure they're in the house before you call to report the shooting"

The not calling until they have been dragged inside the house only applies to Texas

Go back and read the original post again. They have been parking in my neighbor's driveway for quite some time. Then yesterday morning they parked in mine after I left, got out, and were wandering around the side/back of the house until they saw my neighbor get into her car and leave.

Bad idea. If it ever gets to the point you have to pull your gun on someone you shoot to kill, not to wound.

I don't think the courts would buy "defense of self or other" as a shoot to kill excuse if they were fleeing or surrendering. But if I'm mistaken, or if they run at you - feel free to put two in the chest and one in the head.

White van, huh? *scratches chin* Oh, I know!! It's just two really nice guys that want to sell you some Professional-Quality Stereo Speakers that are worth $900 for ONLY $300!! What a bunch of wonderful human beings.

If they look thru your window, shoot them dead between the eyes. Find a crowbar or other implement of destruction. Wipe all your prints off it, and place it in the scumbags' now clenched-in-death-closed hand, ensuring to get his prints on it. Instant justification.

Just kidding about the crowbar. You know, it's one thing to go up to someone's house, bang on the door and then say "Oh, sorry man...wrong house...do you know where Jeff SMith lives?" And another thing completely to go snooping from window to window, in the REAR of the house during the day when nobody is home. :| They aint' Boy Scouts, dammit! :|

Just get a bud across the street with a hipow and a AN/PVS-4 to watch your windows :) Could use a set of FRS units so ya'll could talk back and forth. Would keep you from having to walk through the house. He just waits for them to walk near a window.

oh no. not good. read this article carefully shiner. a bunch of us here wouldnt want this to happen to you:
link

basically, a guy killed a burglar that came in his family's house and HE is going to jail.

"The prosecution claimed that Hastings had overstepped the mark and ?meted out his own form of punishment? when he stabbed Williams 12 times, mostly in the back. Hastings insisted that instinct took over. He believed that he was protecting his children, a boy of four and girl of two, and their mother. "

i know it sorta differs in your case...esp since you dont live in London. but still it is something to think about.

That goes into the whole "London's violent crime rate has INCREASED since the abolition of handguns."

*sigh

He ain't planning on shooting him 12 times. The first shot oughta do it. But please try to get the police to catch them before you try to KILL someone.

yeah but you never know. you gotta cover all bases. besides, heat of the moment can make you do irrational things. if he has this in the back of his head, im sure it might dissuade him from doing something really stupid.
