The first Resident Evil when you're walking down a hall way early in the game and two Dobermans crash through the window and attack you. That game was amazingly groundbreaking at the time.

Tomb Raider 1 came out shortly after and stunned me once again.

Final Fantasy 7 was more addictive than any other game I've played.

I just remembered going to the Missouri state fair one year with my parents and brother, taking off on my own and ending up in one of the arcade tents. I got into this drag racing game (non-PC, they weren't around yet). After a couple of runs, I got into a groove, and I ended up with the high score for the week. :D

And that's not all, a cute girl was watching me, and after I finished we started talking and ended up hanging out until closing. Turns out that she was with the carnival, so we got to get on all the amusement rides for free! :D

And that's not all..oh wait, dang it, yes it is. At that age I was more interested in the free carnival rides, not THE free ride, if you know what I mean. I was/am such a geek. ;)

I just remembered another. I would sit upstairs in my room for countless hours playing tecmo superbowl and Joe montana's sports talk football. Games like that with my 13' tv sitting on my dresser. My legs would be propped up on it, and every once in awhile I would fumble or miss a catch or just get mad about some game I was playing and KICK the dresser in front of my EXTREMELY hard. This went on for years.... the good memories.

Thanks for clearing that up, I thought you killed 8 guys all at once with that AWP. ROFL!!!

That would be one hell of a shot!

The DOOM II double shotgun for the first time. (either that, or fighting Hitler and watching the metal armor shed off of him in Wolf3d)

Hmm... i'm a bigtime FPS player so...

1. original Wofl3D....omg...i loved that game....the bosses, the chaingun, excitement~~

2. multiplayer doom. the ssg was guaranteed kill. and even the single player, playing it at night with headphones scared me a lot...
(i was only 8 or so)...and it came on like 10 or so disks at a WHOPPING 15mbs!!!! :Q

3. my first RPG, final fantasy 2,(4)...and getting to the underworld, the moon, SUMMONING...wow so much for a 9 year old to handle...but i beat it! also brought me to many other RPGs as well...

4. SiN. my first online 3D multiplayer game. kind of a small following crowd, but very fun. especially CTF.
which leads to...

5. Quake2. Rocket arena. Big Ones. Rail Only.

6. and a little add-on...monkey island. lots of it.

7. oh, the gold zelda cartridge too. i was about 6 or so when i went to get it, and the lady selling the games said i was probably too young to "understand" that game. HAH. showed her. beat that game in about 2 or so months. gannon was a tough guy tho.

My pretty recent 10 hour all-nighter RtCW marathon on a Tuesday + Work @8 AM the day after.
Needless to say, I was groggy at work.

Playing wolfenstein on 286's in the computer lab my dad ran. Strafing the walls while repeatedly pressing the space bar looking for secret doors...
looking up the "10th line, 3rd word, page 38" etc. in the game manual of firehawk in order to play it every time.
Dying repeatedly in the desert of one of the kings quest games.
playing the 3 level, enemy-less test version of quake...holy sh1t, jumping in the quicksand and water was just AMAZING, even though there was nothing to kill.

beating Makala and his 2 cronies in Betrayal at Krondor by using the little jade statue of instant death that I held onto instead of giving away as part of a quest. That ruled.

First time I played Super Mario Brothers. I remember the feeling how new and different it was from Donkey Kong.

And many many more....

Too many to choose from really...and so many good experiences I've probably forgotten as well.

Favorite Multiplayer Moment: Playing Duke Nukem with my buds on the school LAN every day during computer class for the entire semester was great fun...can't believe the teacher never noticed. :)

Favorite All-Nighter: Many fond memories, but I'd probably have to pick Privateer...working our way up from that POS Tarsus they give you to start with to the almighty Centurion. Pirating merchant ships, evading Confed patrols and dodging asteroids...ah, a welcome respite from the tedious obligations of real life. :p

Favorite Cut-Scene: Probably the ending movie for Planescape:Torment. A perfect, bittersweet ending for the greatest story in gaming history. :(

Lots of things from CS.

I was at a clan practice, 3 on 3. My 2 teammates got popped early, and did no damage to the other team. So the other team sets up a trap for me (this is on Aztec). They set up by the bombsite near the bridge, right over the water - one behind each pillar, one behind a box to form a triangle. I came out of the water, and ended up standing right in the middle of the triangle. All 3 came out in perfect unison. I emptied my clip into the head of the first 2, then spun around and nailed the third guy in between the eyes with a pistol. They couldn't f'n believe it.

Serious Sam, seeing the last level and that awesome last boss.

Max Payne.

Finally learning how to throw a fvcking fireball with Ryu in Street Fighter II.

Finally learning how to throw a fvcking dragon punch with Ryu in Street Fighter II.

I used to play a game called Bass Champ for my 8088. Great game. I'd pay $50 for a copy of that now....

I caught a 22 pound bass on it. That's only 1 pound shy of the real world record.

Oh, and playing Rise of the Triads at the university and not losing a single game. Once when we played a tiny map in team mode (my brother played along, and had never played an FPS before, so I decided to team to help him a bit) I said 'UP' aloud, saw my brother and someone who had managed to sneak onto our team jump up, jumped down myself and blasted all other players away in 3 shots. Also tended to sidestep all missiles fired at me in that game, even multiple heatseeking missiles, this to great annoyance of the rest (imagine someone avoiding 5 salvos of 6 heatseekers, then killing you with a well aimed, single, non-heatseeking missile, or just by using an automatic pistol)

My most memorable moment occurs everytime I win. How can I possibly forget the names of the legions that I have defeated? Each one finds a special place in my heart, filed under the category of "ya, I'm better than that guy!"

I was next to pathetic when playing mouse/keyboard controlled FPS games at the time so when Half Life came out I played navigator/problem solver while my friend controlled the game itself. Probably the most fun I've had.

That and finally hitting 1,000,000 at SSX Tricky on Xbox was a defining moment.

The most memorable gaming moment for me would be one I wasn't even involved in playing, I remember walking into the game room at the mall and there being this huge crowd of people and edging my way in to it and seeing Dragon's Lair being played for the first time! I was :Q At first I thought the game was fully controllable with disney quality graphics, then I realized your control was limited but it was still an awesome video game moment fo me :)

Bard's Tale 1, 2, and 3 for commodore 64. What an awesome game series.

I only ever beat the 2nd one, and the ending was kind of a letdown. I heard the ending for 3 was much better, but never got to see it.
