Apple is on the verge of launching new Macbooks. Good job shelling out $2400 for a soon-to-be-replaced model.

Pretty much every notebook is a soon-to-be-replaced model.

And, financing a macbook is stupid.

Of all the ways I could think of blowing $2,400, a Macbook is probably the last thing that would come to mind.

Especially if I had to borrow the money. :p

and why don't you have your homeowners/renters insurance cover the laptop you dropped.....for like $40-50 a year i have my wife's jewelry and our notebooks covered under some accidental insurance......just in case they get stolen or dropped and broken....i mean you would still have to pay your deductible (mine's $250) but it would not be $2500

So a guy starts a thread about a Macbook Pro because trolling is fun and everyone takes the bait.

This is sad.

If I had money I'd buy a Macbook, the owner of a Fish a store up the street has one, actually 2. One at the shop and one at home, overpriced? sure, but the thing is SWEET! OSX has all the software I use, and I wouldn't game on a Notebook. So I'd love to keep my PC for my gaming and get a Macbook Pro for my other programs.

So I assume that the OP has a not-so-good rep in these forums?

I don't know his rep, but he's trolling to bring out the Apple haters in one thread.

You paid $400 for AppleCare? I got mine for $170... Well I guess since "you" also paid $2000 for your MBP when I got mine closer to $1600...

I got a mac since it lets me have the best of both worlds. I am running Vista on it now. Also I like the design. Well worth the price, also no payments for 3 Months. YAY.

Vista and Mac hardware is the best of both worlds these days?

Wow, I must be behind the times.

Yeah, he kind of lost me at Vista. I can't take any part of that post seriously now. If he thinks Vista is good I can only imagine how shitty the hardware side is.

whats wrogn with vista?

er...why not just use one pc? buy a console if you want to game on a separate machine. you'd probably save money.

Sorry a little off topic but a controller is ass compared to keyboard+mouse.

If I could afford a gaming computer also, I would have one.

Nice!

I got my 8-core desktop in February and it's been the best investment I ever made - though very susbstantial, it's allowed me to earn it's price 3 times over already.

My girlfriend has a macbook pro, same model as you, it's fantastic.

How does having 8 cores allow you to earn more money than any fewer number of cores?

Working with 500+ meg photoshop files for starters, that and the ability to put 32 gigs of ram into this thing (I'm at 10 now).
