No, but you can do what I do...I usually have 50 downloads going simutaneously.

Cable mustve improved dramatically since the last time i had it. Or the providers around here suck.

Used AT&T in Schaumberg IL and it was horrible, 1400k down maximum, often a lot less, and TONS of downtime.

The local Adelphia (Erie PA) shared people have 2000k down at like 6am when no ones on, less during the evening by far. And cant maintain a connection to online games or use Xbox live.

I have Sprint DSL. A sales lady called to sell me the double speed DSL. She said I could double my speed for $15 more a month, I said, "only if you can lower my phone bill $15 a month". She couldn't do it, so I am still happy with my slower but cheaper DSL. 🙂

694 Kb/second com
84.3 KB/sec storage
12.2 secs on 1MB Dl

Verizon 768k dsl.

Edit: all you cable users post speed test in 7 hours please 🙂

i pay $45 a month in austin for that same up/down. you're gettting raped in gainesville

I have Earthlink in the Seattle area where I get 384 up and about 928-1.5 down for 49/month. I'm moving a little further south soon, and apparently there is a company offering 768 up / 1.5 down for 30-40 / month with static depending on contract. I would love a 768 upstream line, so we'll see. Cable sucks here though, it's Comcast and it's expensive and has very crappy upstream.

where does it display an upload?

Using the old upload test (which is specifically says isnt accurate for broadband) i get 84.6 kb/sec.

Maleficus: I am talking in MEGABITS not MEGABYTES

T1 = 1.544 Mbps = Megabits per second.
or 192 kB/s (kiloBYTES per second).

My cable is 5-6 Mbps downstream, 1 Mbps upstream. $40 a month w/ cable TV, so that's like $70-80 a month =(

But yea, 7.9 Mbps is NOT T1. Most of the time you can get fractional T1 for a reduced cost. But I agree, that could be T2 or fractional T3.

DS-2 is about 6.312 Mbps, while DS-3 is at 44.736 Mbps.

You guys complain over anything... I pay $120 a month for my internet and cable (digital cables with 2 dig boxes and 2 analog). Get some perspective...

I get 1.5/256 for 55$/mo with free Basic Cable here in Oregon with AT... Comcast.

And to the guy saying his T1 is ~8Mbps...... n00b. 😛
