Last semester in Holland i was on a E-3 (Europe) ~ 34.368 Mbps.

Nothing like downloading UT2k3 demo at 7MB per sec. 🙂

My free T1 is 7.9 megabits per second.

You are either lying, or you do not have a T1.

(T1 = 1.5 Mbps, btw)
Proof

thats not a T1, could be a T2, or fractional T3 (DS3).
I'm told by our network team that our computers are on a T1 line.

Being that the maximum speed of a T1 line is 1.5 Mbps and you're getting 6x that, that tells me that you are not on a T1 line. Your network team informed you incorrectly. A T3 line is 43.008 Mbps, so it's possible that you have a fractional T3 line. But it is impossible to get 8mbps on a T1 line.

My Cable connection in NorthEast NJ with Optimum Online is usually about:

Downstream: 4000-9000kbps (depending on the server I am dl from)
Upstream: 1200kbps

My cap is 10mbps and I have download at that speed before.

I pay $49.95/month! Woohoo!

I'll post pics later tonight after midnight sometime.

Then I would suggest you find a new network team that knows WTF they are talking about. IT'S NOT A T1. why would you even argue, feel good that you have somthing BETTER then a T1, as thats what were telling you. T1 is not the god of all data pipes, its actually the lowest on the food chain...

We pay $165.00 here :disgust:

AND I don't have every channel available :disgust:

If we did it would be $200+

Oh Well money is meant to be spent 😀
