if you have a high speed internet connection, i suggest you go to ATHD and pickup one of those 160 Gig drives pricematched to <$20. BT has already been responsible for me filling up two of those suckers.

Seriously though, you never want to do anything illegal with BT because of its security (or lack thereof). Anime is ok since it's licensed and are legal.

uhh u mean unlicensed?!?@!

"Somebody is scanning your computer.
Your computer's TCP ports:
2014, 1543, 1503, 3636 and 3248 have been scanned from 192.168.0.3."

That would be a local address. If you are truly being scanned, another computer in your home is probably infected with a virus...

Usually, software firewall heuristics are bullsh!t.

that IP is from your router, one of yoru comps has a virus like Ichinisan said

and BT cant give you a virus liek kazaa because it hashes stuff

so even if its licensed, who cares?

I do seeing as once it gets licnced 99% of the subbing groups stop subbing it, so you cant Dl it anymore, they also take down the torrents for the older subs

Well, not all of them are unlicensed, then again, I agree that not all of anime are licensed. Therefore, I should be more careful when wording it. Thx for bringing that to my attention. I'll add that some exceptions apply, esp. for anime that hasn't come out on regular TV.

Well, if you download an executable through BT, it could still be a virus. A lot of people continue to distribute things just because they seem to work. I will never trust a self-extracting file, so I don't know why idiots continue to distribute content as EXE's. Even if a self-extracting file extracts successfully, and the content works fine, you could *still* be infected by an invisible trojan-style virus. Anyway, I don't know why people feel safe after scanning an executable file with a virus scanner. If I wrote a virus right now, attached it to a file, and sent it to you, it would pass a virus scan because it would not be in the database until a *lot* of people are infected. This can be avoided by making sure that the virus does not self-replicate. Backdoors mostly spread this way.

you need to configure your router in order for bittorent to work on some routers.
