The lesson there is that it doesn't like it when you watch. It's shy. Pretend you're not following it and it will come right back to you.

LOL back in 17 l watched Harvey closely because up to 25 inches was being forecast for San Antonio and that would have put my house underwater, got nervous watching out the window as the squall lines came in with sheets of rain and 60 mph winds that were rocking my trees like crazy, and then the thing just turned around and fucked off back out to the gulf after an hour or so. Strangest hurricane track I have ever seen. Did a loop to loop near San Antonio, went back out to sea, and then just hung around south of Houston forever and dumped 52 inches on them.

Proof that Houston sucks more than San Antone?

Ugh for the longest time it looked like we were going to get rain and a major cooldown from Beryl. When it was forecast to hit Mexico at a similar place to where Alberto hit it was going to throw a bunch of rain at us for days. Then two days ago it was going to northern Mexico, even better, more cool air more rain. Then yesterday it was going to hit right at the border, best case 6-8" rain and 4-5 days in the 80s. Then today no the 4PM forecast from NOAA had the cone centered at Corpus Christi for landfall and the hurricane's cone centered about 60 miles east of San Antonio and the forecast dropped off to maybe getting one day in the 80s, a couple in the low 90s, and maybe 2" of rain. Now the cone is centered all the way up to Port Lavaca for landfall, the center of the cone is a lot closer to Houston than San Antonio, and we're just in the very edge of the cone. We probably won't get shit in the way of rainfall and I bet tomorrow's NOAA forecast barely gives us any cooling from it if any at all. Ugh like a couple of days of 96 with high humidity might be all we can look forward to now. Which is probably worse than what it is currently at 99-100 every day but with daytime dewpoints in the high 60s to low 70s.
Goin' fer Deetroit!

It looks like Corpus Christie will miss the storm surge but I still wouldn't want to be there.

San Antonio still has a shot. And you're far enough inland that the winds shouldn't be too bad.

I haven't been outside for a few days. Got to get the car a/c fixed and possibly upgraded but I'm waiting for things to be "reasonable" outside first. And this whole week is looking to be 95f plus and very humid. I just hope PSEG has upgraded since the last power outage.

I finally hooked up the big ass lithium ion battery I have. I forget what it's rated for but at the very least I'll have light and a fan.

Just checked - 1260 watt hours. If it's a long outage, I can plug the fridge in too

The weather is JulAuSep.

Hot, muggy, not really cooling off much at night and will be this way until at least mid-September.

We're forecast trace amounts of rain from it now that it has moved so far east, with isolated part of the SA area maybe getting half an inch.

Meanwhile, no where near the coast at all, forecast is calling for a Beryl cooled 81/63 for Wednesday.

I guess we'll see.

88 here, feels like 95, and about 60% humidity with a 70 degree dew point. So kinda of muggy. Nice day to be indoors working and some short errands/appointments, then enjoy the cooler eveing. honestly can't fathom what it's like down in the south and in places like Texas. I prefer having winter than any season that fucking hot and humid.

Meh, to me, it's all one big fckn city from Oly to the Canuck border.
The weather is usually slightly worse here than Seattle, hotter in the summer and cooler in the winter, but only by 2-4º, and I think we tend to get more snow.

Probably. I know in the winter, the Black Hills just west of you get hammered by snow.
I’ll take my nice coastal weather over any of that stuff…(currently 69F.)
