I know 14 isn't cold to some people but I work in steel buildings with no heat and it is kicking my old my ass.

Accuweather says it's headed down to about 20F tonight...with a "real feel" of -4F. (which is slightly colder than the actual wind chill calculator says)

-14C feels like -24. Snowing at a decent pace now, lots of blowing snow. Didn't have lot on my truck this morning so did have extra time to stop at Tim Horton's on way to work so that was nice.

We got about 10" of snow last Sunday. Then it rained almost 2" on Tuesday and was 51 on Wednesday, melting most of the snow. It rained about 1.5" last night and still raining a bit now, and almost all of the snow is now gone.

:(

the storm dropped around 3in of snow followed by rain and now the wrap-around is bringing cold air and lake effect snow. Winds are gusting to 60kmh and snow is blowing everywhere.

Definitely looking like winter out there now. Still coming down but it slowed down now. For a while it even looked like the sun was about to come out.

The temps have been brutal for the last few days and it is not looking much better until maybe Wednesday when we finally have a high in double digits.

We were only supposed to drop to 26 tonight but are at 21 already at 11:30PM. Rolling blackouts sound like a real possibility in the early AM hours tonight when I wasn't expecting them to be a real concern until overnight Monday night and Tuesday night when we have teens forecast. But sounds like we'll have teens overnight tonight too.

-12f right now. Kinda chilly in the house. Lp boiler is struggling to keep up. Time to switch over to wood heat for the duration.

Yeah, dropping down below 10F does that to our force hot water system (piped NG). If the wind picks up, same happens at about 15F. I really think the builder undersized the furnace for a house in NH. Of course, we have a large picture window in the front of our house flanked by to large side windows. They are double pane, but that's not enough. Also, not enough base board length downstairs doesn't help.

Duh, just noticed you put -12F not -12C. Dang!!

-8 feels like -16 so at least it warmed up a little, BUT my furnace quit this morning. Bad heat exchanger. Fun fun.

Replacing just the heat exchanger is an option but it seems to make more sense to just go with a brand new furnace so awaiting a quote for that.

I can up the temp the lp boiler runs at to 170, but it still has to fight the cold basement. After a certain point i have to fire up the wood boiler. Yeah, -12f. Canada needs to keep its cold fronts to itself.
