Cloudy damp and chilly today.

Happily for now all we'll be seeing on the shore is cold rain/snow that melts on contact with the ground but just north they're saying maybe a couple inches.

Bright sunshine and blue skies today BUT a chilly wind and high temps in the upper 30's f.... and of course my less than a year old car battery is failing to hold a charge so I had to spend time outdoors dealing with it.

It's always worse on the first few cold days before you adapt. :confused_old:

Driveway is cleared but snow is still coming down, and that wind is pretty brutal. Winter is here.

we are expecting a fairly intense storm Wednesday. Warm, lots of rain and high winds.

That will be followed by a cold front that will bring snow flurries.

Cold and rainy. (Currently 40F) Slight chance of snow this week and next. HOPEFULLY it will be just a skiff of snow, not like the shit Red Squirrel posted.

It's about 15F warmer than average, but keeps alternating between a little colder than average and a little hotter, so hard to adjust to winter coming and plan what to wear without consulting the weather forecast.

It was an extremely windy summer and fall here, finally settling back down to normal now. It broke the 4x4 end post on a fence (granted it had some rot from years of ground exposure but not that much).

I lost a lot of tomatos, peppers, etc due to them bobbing back and forth on their pod-stems till they were effectively severed from supplying nutrients. Fortunately I had the forethought to stake and tie everything well so nothing had broken stems, but you can't stake and tie every individual fruit/etc pod on a plant.

On the bright side, I usually have a massive amount of oak leaves to deal with in fall but this year, > 80% of them blew away.

Temp is in the mid-40's, but it raining heavily, lots of wind, and the power went out just after midnight. Reports vary from tree took out overhead wires to an exploding transformer. Nothing official yet.
I FINALLY have a use for the generator I bought a year ago.

Winter is here. Afternoon highs for the next 10 days will range from 30-38F. Not terrible, but the unseasonably warm ~45 degree days are gone.
