Oh, gosh, it made it all the way up into the high 70s today! Fortunately nothing higher than 70 in the forecast for the next week. I actually sweated a little bit on my afternoon hike.

Well, supposed to have Hurricane Helene come right smack dab through Tallahassee in the morning as a cat 3. Been nice knowing y'all.

Compressional heating ahead of a cold front is always fun. 93 at freaking noon on September 25th. Best part is that cold front that's 120 miles north of us is supposed to die before getting here. But we still get the compressional heat ahead of it. The dying front is supposed to bring us down to 90 tomorrow when average temperature for September 26th is supposed to 87.7F here.

I was just watching video from interviews at a sandbag station in Tallahassee. You guys hang in there! 🫶 It's going to be rough. My magic 8 ball says it'll be close to, or even a full CAT 4, at landfall. I hope it's wrong.

We are getting feeder band action here on the space coast but nothing to worry about. Should not see hurricane force winds unless it jogs more east. Tornados are the big threat here.

There could be hurricane force winds in Atlanta. Stay safe if you are in the path, this one is exceedingly ugly.

Getting the shit gobsmacked out of us. So much for thinking this was going to be a nothing burger.

Fortunately, that direct hit we were supposed to get here in Tallahassee from Helene turned out to be just a side slip. Didn't get much rain or wind. Our lot has many trees. BIG trees. While there's a (according to hubby) shit ton of leaves and small twigs , there's nothing else down. Lost power for a total of about 10 seconds. Haven't had time yet to see how bad that storm surge was elsewhere in the state. I know we dodged a bullet for sure.

lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of rain here in East Tennessee. Quite a bit of wind too... hopefully the trees surrounding my house are bomb proof

  • 97F = 36C
  • those are typical highs for August in the hottest two week span of the year
  • 10F above average for this time of year
  • San Antonio has never had a day of 100F in October but wouldn't shock me if we have one tomorrow

Bay Area is supposed to be
