Grapple onto the helicopter, beat the shit out of the pilot, throw him out, and hijack it?

Easy Peasy, and then once you have that technique down you can tether an enemy to one of those propane tanks and watch it drag him into the air like a bottle rocket! The game is over the top fun. I did have a little trouble shooting the giant missile down with the fighter jet, I am not in love with the way those control yet. Aside from that I can find no fault with this game so far.

I brought JC1 and 2 off a steam deal a while back. My advice is to skip the first one.

The voice acting is pretty bad... if you take it seriously. If you don't, it falls into the "its so bad that its good" category for me.

JC2 is awesome, I've put 40+ hours into it and I'm about halfway into the missions, but I have way more fun exploring the island and blowing shit up :D

Amazing game. I haven't played in a while, but according to Steam, I put 104 hours into it. Well worth the $7 I paid.

This thread has made me want to play this game again. What a great game to get stoned and just fly around and admire the scenery. I need to remember where I have to go now to hijack the superjets, haven't played in so long I forget where any of them are.

P.S. One thing I've learned is that this game plays much better with an Xbox controller than M+KB.

Took me about 85 hours to get 99%+ in the game. There's no way I'll get 100%. There are random fuel tanks, water towers, and upgrade crates scattered throughout the map and NOT near any settlement, which makes it virtually impossible to find all of them. I did go through and collect every faction item and completed every race and every settlement... that took long enough.

Lots of fun, definitely worth it. Never played Just Cause 1 but I've heard very little good about it.

Oh and the bad voice acting and story are kind of on purpose. Not every game can be a cinematic masterpiece. JC2 is all about blowing shit up and having fun.

This is my problem with it, I'm not enjoying the controls too much as this game has pure arcade style shooting.

There's so much aim assistance that using a controller doesn't even hinder you (and it helps greatly with flying). If you aim in the general direction of an enemy you'll lock on and always hit them.

While I liked JC2, I never really loved it. I was disappointed that you couldn't blow up more. It would have been nice to blow up some buildings, especially in the large cities.

Did you guys start this thread knowing it was on sale today?

Cuz I read this thread this a.m., and an hour later my website sent me an email saying it was on sale.

$5 and your reviews here was a no-brainer.

Yup. [/B]Some of the worst voice acting and story of any game.[/B] Despite all that, I'm shocked at how much time I've dumped into it and fun I had. Then if you add mods onto that it makes things that much better. It's one of those games where the fun is what you make of it. They give you an open world and it's up to you to find your own fun. The story mode isn't as fun.

How does the voice acting compare to Two Worlds 1?

 What worlds what? Never heard of it.

Two Worlds was a B-grade RPG that released in 2007, notorious for it's bad voice acting. And no, I don't think JC2's voices are all that bad. Cheesy, but not terrible. I'm also guessing that most people who make fun of it are those who haven't heard an actual Singaporean accent before.

If you like JC2 I suggest looking for a bargin bin version of Mercenaries 2. It has far less polish but similar game play and kept me entertained for 40+ hours. Think I bought it for $1.99 retail.

The voice acting in Just Cause 2 is intentionally cheesy. It fits the game. I wouldn't call it a weak point. The story is whatever. JC2 was a great game though. So much fun to just run around and explore. The world is massive. You are literally always discovering cool new things. Floating blimp parties, secret jets, "Lost" style islands. I got over 30 hours out of it and never even half completed it. Just explored most of the time.
