Depends on your location and what your trying to buy. Best Buy is always like 1000 people waiting for hours and CompUSA is like 100 people.

Luckily other places are selling stuff as well like Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, Fry's etc.

is that 250 laptop like one of hte top 3 deals that bb is having? even though it's not advertised in the flyer, i'm assuming it's pretty damn out there?

i mean it says minimum 18/store. so chances are they won't have like 100 of em or anything right? i kinda wanna just go up there w/my sister in an hour or so, but i'm like 99% sure i won't get one, and i'm kinda tired now.

LOL Just give up now, if your BB has less than 20 people in line then you have a chance but I highly doubt that.

It's posted on the website and it's made it to every deal site that I can see. I googled the model number earlier and it came up everywhere.

Couple questions:

What do you do if you have to go to the bathroom? Or you have to bring at least 2 people so each one take turn for the other?

I am curious because i never get on a line for anything beside movie and restaurants(which is relative quick).

if anyone went to BB this morning thinking they were gonna get a deal on something that makes me laugh, you have to camp in front of that store starting AT LEAST from the day before when the store closes to get something. Where have you people been? living under a rock? I'm surpised you haven't heard that about BB before... I stood in the line 2 years ago starting at 2am... and STILL didn't get what I went for. Either you pull up a tent and sleep there overnight, or you just dont' get what you want... ask yourself "Is it worth it?"

do they open the doors and everyone rushes in at once?

I was wondering the same thing. I think now they hand out coupons that give you the rights to purchase a product at the special price so there isnt a stampede to get inside the store.

last year at best buy they did that in some dept for pricier items. i got a video camera, gamecube and a couple of other things like that, and had to stand in line for hours to pick it up and check out.

not worth it. decent deals, but for the time spent....meh

there were news reports here with people having thanksgiving dinner on the sidewalk outside of best buy. that is sad. I'd have to be getting a high end 42" lcd hdtv for $100 to do that.

Ah well, it was nice to think that I might have gotten a deal, but f00k that, I wasn't gonna stand in line for a monitor. I felt bad for my bro-in-law though, he isn't a rich dude, and I over-hyped him with dreams of a cheap HDTV.

I don't think I will ever get over-hyped about a black friday again.

Maybe I will get lucky and get something online later today.
I went out once on Black Friday, waited in line with a bunch of crazies for naught.
Never again - so not worth it.

I've placed two orders this morning for Black Friday items offered online. It's the way to go.

I was the 18th person in line.....the suddenly....line cutters. :disgust: Then some brigt fellow had an idea to yell out "rush" at 2:30 AM, then everybody began to rush to the door while I was napping in my tent. everyone who was in the front was jammed to the middle of the line. I ended up being the # sixty something in the store. I am happy that I got the camcorder i wanted, but it just pissed me off that people just cut and Best Buy did nothing about it. Everyone in teh front was about to start a riot, but the employees did not care.

I bet you that there are record numbers of Best Buy employees quitting today. :D

Fixed.

I went to my BB at 11pm to find a line of over 100 people! Happily I went back the following morning and scored one of the HPs that someone didn't pick up. :)

I slept until at least 12:30pm today. Didn't leave the house until 3pm or so.

The lengths people are going to in order to get a deal on some electronic gadgets is ridiculous.
Waiting outside of a store like they were in a bread line in the collapsed ussr. Giving up a holiday, and at least 1 day of your life in order to buy a friggin TV or computer, printer, toaster or electric egg timer. Sleeping outside of a store, in potentially crappy weather to buy something, shows that our priorities are right on.

The people setting up camp for playstations, or paying upwards of a grand for a spot in line are even worse. I feel kinda sorry for these people. To each their own I suppose.

Everyone beams with pride that they got up at 4am to be a "door buster" 5am, but getting up in time for work

It was nuts outside, but inside they had our BB"s very organized. They had lines for everything, so there was no fighting, rushing, or crowding. Pretty damned efficient actually.
