There are a lot of dumb people about.

Dummy.

You must have failed grammar. Lot is singular. "A lot of whatever" is still singular.

Wrong. And a lot of us is trying to tell you so.

See how that sounds, mimbo?

Linkage to HDMI cable for $250

I was going to spend an extra $275 to get a BluRay player, but the salesman told me that a BluRay player was not necessary since this cable will produce HD quality with my new upscaling DVD player. So I looked at as if I was saving $25, not spending $250. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

This has to be a joke, no way any one is that gullible. Can someone please confirm this is shens?

If you need confirmation you is as stubbornly clueless as sdfox. 😛

No, the salesman just fed you lies to make a sale with a much larger margin. You do know that the cables they sell are marked up by like 500% or more right? If you get a part-time job at a retail electronics store or know someone who can hook you up they can get those same cables at a significant discount. For example a $120 HDMI cable can be had for like $20 - $30 dollars at Micro Center if you know somone who works there.

Regardless of how it sounds, it is grammatically correct. English language is fucked up that way.

Isn't HDMI digital and doesn't digital mean that you either receive the signal or you don't? Or am I completely off base here?

Thats what I was thinking, which is why I was left scratching my head at this thread. But I have come to the conclusion that this thread just proves there is a sucker born every minute.

Oh, MAN, be careful! A lot of snake oil out there is from fake snakes!

Do you think I'd be working in a place like this if I could afford a real snake?

Damn replicants are everywhere. Wait, I thought you were retired?

Just aired out a bit.

People is plural so the verb should be "are".

here, go read a bit. Here

I bought a monster cable for my guitar about 5 years ago ,and it's actually been a pretty good investment. I'm tough on cables..I tend to snag them on damn near everything, and having an unconditional lifetime warranty on a $20 cable is a great deal.

This is just ridiculous however.

You're completely off base. There can still be errors on the digital transmission which are apparent in poorly made digital and HDMI cables, especially over any decent distance. This will been as artifacts or "sparkles".

Many people falsely believe that if it's digital you either get it or not, which is just simply not true and can easily be demonstrated, especially with digital audio and video - more so video because it's easier to see.

But the part you're leaving out is that the cable would have to be of such absolutely poor quality that interference could play a role in whether or not the digital signal gets their cleanly or not.

Bottom line, the difference in quality you will see between the Monster Cable and the $6 monoprice cables will be 0.

Or 1, depending. 50/50 it'll be a 0 or a 1.

$20 is incredibly reasonable, especially for monster. check your label again. are you sure it doesn't say "m0nster" or something similar?
