Don't they have some kind of thing where if you eat an ungodly sized steak in an hour, it's free?

72oz and that is mainly in texas i thought.

its two hours and its in one place in texas (at least, only one place is famous for it) and thats in amarillo
I remember seeing something on those guys that were in training for the hot dog eating contest at Nathan's. 72oz of steak covered the entire plate, and some was hanging off the edges.

I love a good steak, but DAMN!

You had it cooked well done?

Hahahaha.

They gave you the cow's ass. Anytime some orders their meat meat to be burned beyond recognition the cooks will always use the worst cut of beef they have. They save the best cuts for those who order it rare, because it has to look good. I know Ruth Chris' steakhouse here in NC has also been accused of using returned beef for someone else's well-done steak.

I think I'd like, at some point in my life, to try that 6lb monstrosity...maybe if I'm ever on death row or something.

I might try for a 32oz, seeing a 16 went down really easy. 40 sounds like a lot though. Well done? Sheesh :p

I have had a 32 oz steak on a few occasions at Al Capones. Now that is good steak. I treid a 40 oz @ bills casino in lake tahoe and it tasted like crap.

Well done = the devil. medium rare to medium only. and medium is streaching it.

I could never stand eating a rare steak, I'm a paranoid guy who would think about getting a disease from the unkilled bacteria or something... well done is fine for me as long as there's some good sauce and seasoning...

Yeah, about Cattlemen's. I went to Dallas/Ft. Worth not too long ago and that was the best steak I had ever had.

It's easy to eat lots of a good steak. If you get a crappy one, it's tough to get even 10oz down.

Usually the time limit for eating a 72oz steak is one hour :). I guess you would have to pay then.

Wow, you beat my record. The biggest steak I ever ate by myself was a medium-rare 32 ounce porterhouse. Needless to say, I didn't have room for dessert when I was done :)
