:disgust:

but it will be income until something else comes along :(

UPDATE:
well, i have an interview tomorrow at 3:30...should i do my best to not appear over-qualified?

UPDATE 2:
the interview was kinda weak yesterday...apparently the person who normally does interviews wasn't available so the sales manager did it...i don't think she really knew what she was doing...she asked me where i lived and then was silent for about 30 seconds...so i started asking questions about the work enviroment there, salary, and what not...i kind of interviewed her...she said the general manager should call me in a couple of days to schedule my third and final interview...

i showed up about a half hour early to talk to some employees and get their take on it...i found out the employee discount on merchandise is 5% over cost...that alone could make it worth working there...i'll have to see...

Good luck. You applying to Geek Squad is akin to whore finding a pimp.

The whore could probably get clientele herself and keep 100% of the profits if she put just a little effort into it. But instead she gets a pimp to hand her everything on a platter, in exchange for giving the pimp a huge cut of the profits.

Think of the intelligence of the average BB customer when it comes to PCs... and those are the people the Geek Squad has to deal with all day.

Just hope you're better than the Geek Squad goons around here... well, that's not a fair statement, because even a coleslaw is more intelligent than these Geek Squad's...

I know this lady, probably around 65 years old, doesn't know much about the hardware but knows enough about the software. Tried out Best Buy because they charge less for service, asked them to make a backup of the drive first, and kept confirming that indeed a backup was made. Well, after they screwed up, lost a lot of data, and finally came out that the guy didn't even know how to make a backup, even though he confirmed numerous times that one was done! Then this 65 y/o lady is going through and telling this ~20 y/o Geek Squad agent how drive backups are done, and he was amazed! I've got other Geek Squad stories, but this is by far my fav.

Not really. There are a TON of similar companies that don't blatantly rip off their technicians. $10/hr is remarkably lower than what you would earn for similar work just about anywhere else, and ridiculously lower than working for yourself.

You're calling me an idiot? That's rich. In my state, Geek Squad employees earn about $3 more per hour than someone flipping burgers.

Since when has doing computer technician work pay only $3 more per hour than a kid bagging burgers and fries at MickyDs?
