Interesting thread. I think only people who are "Self-aware" can truly grasp the full meaning of your post DannyLove. To be able to get outside yourself and look back in is a rare trait. Some would call it a blessing...others it is a curse.
Some days I will "wake up" at my job and think "wtf am I doing here?" Will it matter to ANYONE that I am hitting these keys or pushing this mouse? I too can look down from the stars and see myself in my chair doing NOTHING to contribute to the betterment of our race. That is what brings me down (see my sig). It's not like I am depressed...I am thankful to be alive and KNOW that I am alive...but I just wish I could do something of value for the planet and still make enough CA$H to feed the family...
To me that is what Star Trek is all about...finding humanity's full potential...at least according to what Q said in "All Good Things..." - I just wish life were more like Trek sometimes.
