an understanding of the law does not prevent judges from introducing their own preconceptions and bias to a case. you might as well say all cases should be judged by a computer which is programmed with the rules of law.

I am not saying judges won't be bias, but giving so much power to ordinary people, power to decide a mans fate is not something I support.
