Now that it's winter here one word/phrase that comes to mind... "wintry mix" used in the weather forecasts. I know i'm still trying to grasp this thing called language but it would seem to me it should be "wintery mix". Even spellcheck wants to correct it.
Seems "wintry" is preferred but some show "wintery" could also be used.


When i first read this thread it reminded me of What's Words Worth? by Motörhead

I sort of like that English (UK) spellings tend to preserve the æ. Think of it as being similar to speaking Klingon but harkens back to a time when Latin, not English was the lingua franca.

BTW, You do know there are plugins that check your spelling. So I'm assuming you don't use one out of privacy concerns.
