Ok, seriously now. People would never guess that my intellect probably exceeds their own.

Not necessarily because my intellect is so vast, but because I've got this Neanderthal thing going on. People are often surprised that I am a science and computer geek. Their first impression is that I might be more inclined to fix their transmission or hunt down animals with a spear.

In addition, guys are always assuming I must be a member of that 'guy club' who think women are put on this earth for their own personal amusement, are accepting of infidelity as one of those 'guy things', and assume I'm a practitioner of it myself (you know, because I'm a 'guy').

They look perplexed when I tell them I believe women are my equal and that infidelity is not one of those 'guy things', its a personal dishonesty, selfishness, and impulse control thing that emotionally healthy males should grow out of by the age of 21. They really blank out when they hear me use the term 'emotionally healthy'.

This is the same club who holds that 'guys' aren't supposed to like cats. I love cats, but then I love all kinds of critters, including dogs. Of course, members of this club are then likely to conclude I must be gay, because I think women are my equal and love cats (I'm a flaming heterosexual).

Having a Y chromosome, I cannot help but like manly sh-t as well; the smell of gun powder and octane booster, and watching two consenting adults beat the living snot out of each other. I am sickened by any personal violence where there is less than 100% mutual consent and free will.

Dishonesty, selfishness, and anti-social behavior have nothing to do with being 'manly'.
