This story was posted one week ago. Well President Big Mouth cited it as proof President Obama wiretapped Trump using a British spy agency
During a White House press briefing on Thursday, Spicer cited comments from Fox News commentator Andrew Napolitano that Spicer said confirmed Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), an intelligence agency, took part in a spy operation at Trump Tower during the 2016 US election.

GCHQ has stated that claim is utter bullshit.

The point of this thread isn't the wiretapping its the peddling of a FALSE story by Napolitano and Fox News. Rachel Maddow was skewered for hyping a TRUE story.

So I'm starting the Maddow like outrage against Andrew.

Based on the Maddow outage, why?
Because the people who watch Maddow and support the same politics as she does are equally as annoyed at her non story as those who oppose her. Because people who support the same politics as Maddow are reasonable people. People who watch Fox News and support the same politics as they do are wholly unreasonable vile piece of feces. You simply can't fix the brains of people as fuckstupid as right wingers. They genuinely enjoy being stupid and hating people different than themselves.

That's pretty awful.

Though I think the bigger issue here is that our President is getting his intelligence from the media. And the irony of that makes me want to laugh, but I know it is more appropriate to be horrified.

It sounds like you genuinely enjoy hating people different than yourself.

I agree, on one hand it's funny that the guy with access to the most powerful intelligence capabilities on the planet is getting his understanding of the world from some idiot on cable news.

On the other hand it's terrifying that the guy with access to the most powerful intelligence capabilities on the planet is getting his understanding of the world from some idiot on cable news.

Trump loves to say that other countries are laughing at us for various perceived deficiencies in trade agreements, defense agreements, etc. I don't know if he realizes it but HE is the reason other countries are laughing at us.

I wouldn't call it a non-story, certainly it's not a false story like above. Over-sold is the best description IMO.

The fox story is (another) outright lie and it's been retold by the Whitehouse to try and cover for another outright lie (again.)

A WH apology he just been issued to the British for Sean Spicer's repeat of this lie.

@Fern can come in, share the rose colored glasses, and explain it all away for us as in the other thread.

The White House is full of pathological liars. Plain and simple.

Cuz history shows they dont care about their own liars.

I agree that they don't care about the act of lying for their cause but I think they really do care about their own liars in the sense that they absolutely depend on their liars to keep the flow of disinformation and up to the minute horrific tales of liberal atrocities going to them in order to mollify and confirm those suspicions and fears that were created by those very same liars to begin with. Follow the trail of lies and they invariably lead back to the GOP Ministry of Propaganda and Trump Tower and their need to keep their followers living the big lie. This in order to exploit them and through them the rest of the nation.

The alt world they live in would wither on the vine without the lies and other such sundry falsehoods that sustain their very existence.

You're likely not a good judge of facts, character or life in general if you're watching Fox News for anything other than oppo research.

Fox is spinning itself into a frenzy. After Shep's bland statement that they could not confirm Nappy's story that been it. Times like this I check out their shows. Neil Cavuto and The Five will not touch this and its current news. False story that Trump used to defame Obama and the Brits. Not only that Trump threw Fox under the bus saying its their fault I'm not to blame.

Fox News boardroom heads bust be exploding right now. Hey Fox what happened to covering the news??

Can't be bothered with a daily intelligence briefing, but that man loves him some Fox & Friends in the morning every day.

Maybe the intelligence agencies could dub audio of actual facts over that garbage and transmit them to Trump's TV. He might actually learn something.

Can't wait to hear Steve Doocy's assessment of North Korea's ICBM capabilities!

HI,

Since you called, Homer is again confused. If Fox News had 3 sources then FN didn't lie. Doesn't matter if the story is correct or not. If the story is incorrect it means the 3 sources lied.

Otherwise, oh yeah, well if the intel agency says they didn't do it well, that settles it. Right? Cuz I'm sure intel agencies don't lie, even if that's basically their job.

Oh, and my glasses aren't rose colored; they're dark gray (assuming that's the color of pessimism).

Somewhat interesting that the head of the GCHQ unexpectedly and suddenly quit when Trump took office. "Personal reasons".

So Shepard Smith is lying?

"Fox News cannot confirm Judge [Andrew] Napolitano's commentary," Smith said. "Fox News knows of no evidence of any kind that the now-president of the United States was surveilled at any time, in any way. Full stop."

What did Shep say?

Did he say Fox couldn't confirm that they had 3 sources?

Or did he say that FN couldn't confirm the allegation that CGHQ accessed US intel data?

The former is a big problem for FN. The latter is a 'duh'. Neither FN nor any other will be able to confirm what GCHQ did or did not do.

IDK. It's not clear to me what Shep is saying. But if he means that FN can't confirm Napolitano (sp?) or whomever had 3 sources there's a problem. I.e., if Napolitano never had 3 sources he should be fired for lying.

Let's apply that to Trump! Let's see. False claims about Obama, false claims about the GHCQ and saying "well they didn't lie they just had bad sources" means they liked the story so much they didn't even bother to check it out. Of course there's more, but that's sufficient evidence of duplicity and incompetence that any ordinary employee would have gotten the axe. These people are the worst deceptive group of people I have ever seen in office and that includes Nixon. Hells bells I'd rather have him back if he were alive as he was a person of higher character and ability and far more honest.
