Judge beating his daughter on video

wtf did I just watch?

anyway, this was the kind of shit that went down with a very good friend of mine when I was very young.

dad was 7th Day Adventist primo nutjob. The slightest misstep meant a beating with the belt all night, that the neighborhood could hear. I was 6-7 at the time, and I distinctly remember hearing that shit while running around on the sidewalk at the time.

family was fucked to no end--oldest brother a career criminal, named their cat "Hitler," swastikas all over the place, random beatings and having to read teh Watchtower every night. (of course--no Halloween, no Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, any of that shit = hell on earth for kids). There was a divorce, some time later; and as I've heard, many holidays are now celebrated.

wtf.

--not that my ranting directly applies to this; just that it's my only experience with nutjob abusive fathers and enablers.

Negative. Assaulting children is a technique used only by extremely poor parents. It is completely, utterly and incomprehensibly wrong, and this video is simply a different degree of the same punishment. Hitting children is illegal in any civilised country.

Spanking isn't illegal and neither should it be, there's a huge difference between spanking and beating. If you think that video is anything like a calm parent administering a proper spanking, then you're delusional. Of course, speaking to someone who only believes in such absolutes ("all corporal punishment is bad") is a waste of time. So, spend your time addressing someone else, because I don't want to hear it.

actually, negative reinforcement does jack shit for discipline. there isn't a bit of data that supports such a notion.

sending one off to military school is different--but then we're talking about the mind of a 15 year-old vs a 6 year-old.

Well, I agreed with you up until the part where, after you told him off, you basically said "i'm going to stick my fingers in my ears now so don't bother responding lalala".

Well this judge's life is completely ruined. This video is about to go completely viral, if it's not already. There is a huge post about this on Reddit, they are actively sending this link to CPS and news agencies all around the country.

Let's hope justice is served. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior ever.

F*** him. It's like talking with the party drones in P&N. It's a waste of time talking with them too.

Its extremely viral. Just turn on automatic comment updates, and its 3am. Video views is turned off, cuz its way way way more than 317.

I'm not seeing the abuse. I'm seeing a girl get whipped a few times for doing something wrong.

Oh and it wouldn't have gone so bad for her if she just did what he said. Again, it's just punishment.

You know... I might believe in what you are saying if NZ did not have one of the highest records of child abuse.

Plus there is a big difference between hitting a kid like this video has and normal spanking.

Actually, it worked well on me, but I wasn't abused, only spanked. My dad never hit me out of anger, and I only received a few swats on the rump with his hand or a small paddle. It wasn't about physical pain, it was the thought that I'd disappointed him enough to where he felt he needed to do it.

Well, there you have it, TridenT thinks it's fine. Now we know for a fact that it's a totally fucking terrible thing to do.

Spanking isn't illegal in the USA and neither should it be,

FTFY. Physically abusing children is illegal in most civilised countries. The USA, yet again, is the exception. And yes, it should be. Hitting children is a display of shitty parenting - unable to control your kids without assaulting them? Shitty parent.

It isn't illegal in Canada either, or most of the EU, or Japan, or Korea, or Australia, or... well, I think you get the point. Spanking is fine when done properly and in moderation. Get over it.

Again, hitting and spanking are two different things.

Yeah some countries were slow to outlaw slavery too (looking at you again, USA). Just because something is widely accepted doesnt make it right. Physically disciplining children is an example of something which will be seen in the future as barbaric and cruel.

You said "no civilized country allows it", and that's obviously BS. Even your own country is trying to repeal the ban (NZ), and you're still talking nonsense. lol

I guess you'd better "watch your ass". 😛

Incorrect.

*sigh*

however, a non-binding citizen-initiated referendum on corporal punishment in August 2009 produced a large majority against the ban. A private member's bill was then introduced to Parliament to overturn the ban, but it failed at first reading: see New Zealand corporal punishment referendum, 2009.

You sure you're from that country? Do you remember when that vote occurred? :sneaky: The referendum was struck down, but it had a whole lot of support.

Abusive people like this deserve to spend the rest of their life getting a$$ r@ped in jail... There is no excuse for this kind of behavior from a educated person in a position of great responsibilities...

What's up with the judges anyways, some let pedos go free, others behave like sick sadist b@stards some support Sharia law... damn....
