What is common sense gun laws?
Ban them all.

You already know the comprise positions better then I do.

You could compromise, do the background checks, mental health stuff, and avoid the inevitable ban them all backlash. Enough people representing your faction are in power right now that if you messaged them a safe vision for American gun ownership could be implemented.

But you are not going to.

So we are going to get to ban them all. Hand guns, rifles, muzzle loaders, everyone that goes bang, twang, or whatever.

Your thinking it is not going to happen in your Murica. But you know, entire generations of Americans are now growing up with only one experience with guns. The mass shooter drill. Being randomly shot for accidentally knocking on the wrong door. Their 2nd amendment read is gonna be a bit more literal then yours. The whole comma thing or whatever, yea, not going to mean much to them.

You see, to us, a well organized militia is the national guard. And if your not in the national guard, you don't get a gun.

What is common sense gun laws?
Using the last 5 publicized shootings which were nothing more the victims being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ralph Yarl shot just for knocking on wrong door
Kaylin Gillis shot and killed because she entered the wrong private road.
6 year old girl and her father shot just because she tried to retrieve a ball on his property.
2 cheerleaders shot because they accidently entered the wrong car.
2 Instacart drivers shot at because they got the wrong address and the shooter was told who they were.

None of these cases indicated mental illness. These were people not mentally mature or responsible enough to own guns. That isn't the same as mental illness. These are classic examples of people who should not be allowed to own guns. They either had anger issues, inbred racist or just plain hateful. Kaylin's killer to this day isn't remorseful.

To be issued a gun you need the following evaluations set at the federal level. Universal minimum standards.

Firearms competency
Mental fitness/maturity (not just illness)
gun storage requirements
universal background checks (all gun transfers)
red flag laws

Tell us why ANY of the preceding aren't common sense.

Isn't insider trading illegal? Jon seems to say in that OP video that the people in charge of keeping that from happening are not doing it. I figure it's illegal, but he's saying it's not getting prosecuted for a lot of people with for-knowledge in positions of power.
