Joint problems - Glucosamine?

don't waste your money. Based on research its fuzzy if Glucosamine does anything. But if it does you have to get the Glucosamine sulfate .

The sulfate at least has some studies that show some positive effects.

that's one place for info. cant find the one with all the actual research links.

Yeah, I take the NOW glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM and it immediately alleviates knee pain for me. Studies have backed this as well, but oddly enough it doesn't work for everyone.

looks like that uses the sulfate. worth a shot for OP. I might try some myself. I occasionaly get knee pain (like if I try to do a full run of insanity )

The part about fuzzy research isn't entirely true. You're correct that research is fuzzy on if it actually helps restore joint space and cartilage. However, research more consistently shows that it is fairly effective at improving comfort and slightly increasing functional ability after 6 weeks of time (compared to a placebo). It does not have short-term effects so somebody has to be very consistent with it before they will notice the improvements.

I find relief with glucosamine chondroitin msm.
My hands started to ache for no reason about a year ago after starting 2-3 wks the ache went away while doing nothing. After about 6 months the joint pain in use went away when I'd try simple things like snapping my fingers and stuff

Might have to stop by my local costco and see if they have this glucosamine sulfate. Appears by browing on AMZ there is a kirkland version out there.

If you do let me know. I couldnt find one with sulfate when I was there. Only the hydrochloride ones. I ended up buying a bottle from Amazon. Lets see if it helps.

Looked at the various product online and looks like you're right. Probably AMZ descriptions are wrong.

glycine and proline may benefit you. they are the two most common amino acids in collagen. there are hydrolyzed collgen protein drinks available if you want to drink them. remember that they may be foul tasting as it is collagen. otherwise you can try getting those two amino acids in other foods. glutamine is also another good idea to take. vitamin c is also one of the most important nutrients for joints.

I gave my dog a pill a day when she was limping for while. It took a little over a week, but I definitely saw an improvement. Sometimes the Vitamin Shoppe has a buy 1 get 1 free sale.

Consumer Reports once said that if it doesn't work in the first 6 months then it will only help drain your wallet in the long run. I tried it and it did nothing for me.

I made sure that I used a brand that received good marks by lab techs who scrutinized various brands for quality and authenticity.

That brand turned out to be Kirkland which is sold by Costco - my trial run took place several years ago.

Gotta love a magazine that tests products (like Consumer Reports) that does not accept money from advertisers.

Aquedan is a good drug.

People who are in a place where they need a partial or total knee replacement take Aquedan - and then wind up not needing the knee replaced. It's as if they discovered the Fountain of Youth.

Yep, Aquedan qualifies as a miracle drug.

Vets inject it into lame horses. The horses are then able to run wild. Unfortunately, you have to go an American veterinarian or to a doctor in Europe to get injected with Aquedan.

No one in the U.S. ever talks about Aquedan. Not sure what the U.S. Surgeon General is thinking.

Me too. Seems to work wonders. I'm 49, in great shape but the joints and tendons are getting worn out, LOL. I was tiling my floors and man did I wake up stiff and tight some mornings, started taking this on the advice of a chirpractor and I was like a new man in no time.

I use the Schiff "MOVE FREE", it works for me. First 2-3 weeks you got to take 2 tablets a day, then twice daily one in the morning and one in the evening. It definately helped in my joint pains
