I'm in....or out? Whatever, I'm for the boycott, but mostly because I'm tired of BF2 and don't see BF2142 attracting me, as opposed to all the bugs.

In-game advertising would be irritating though.

Where do you think I've been sending links to this thread to?

Well if everyone on the list so far bought the game at 50$ a pop, EA could have made almost $4,500

I'm chaning my option after a few days of testing. Unike BF2 the login screen doesn't let multiple soldiers create accounts. There is only ONE primary account, and the 4 (only four accounts per key) soldier accounts be passworded. This means that for my game center I'm screwed.

Corporations shouldn't make fun games?

Yes, of course they should make fun games but not fun games that took almost nothing to produce with a rip-off price tag and spam waiting for a gamer to install. Then, when that's done they'll be left without a refundable option.

If you only care for the fun of a game and not the support, price, or practices involved in cheating the buyer then by all means, enjoy.

EDIT: List updated and sent to OP.

I'm all for this boycott of BF2142 (I'm on the list even), but I think we all shouldn't be so short-sighted and call out the name of Quake Wars at every turn. Quake Wars isn't even out, may not even be any good, and may be similar buggy software. We think we're being smart about not buying 2142, but we act like we'd put down money for QW right now.

Sorry for us relying on the developers reputation for making GAMES THAT WORK clouding our judgement.

I have come to associate EA Games with bugs, and 6-12month late patches that half fix issues.

I was devastated when i found out EA is on board for Warhammer Online.

Reputation? Quake Wars is being developed by a company named Splash Damage. Their history of work? One game according to IGN. Oh ya, Gamespotsays the same thing. Reputation is earned, not given.

So my post still stands. And, oh ya, apology accepted.

I don't disagree, but one can hope?

Won't buy BF2142 in its current state. I wanted BF2 until EA removed jumping and shooting at the same time and retarded others features so that everyone performed the same, from the worst of n00bs to the best of the best players. What is the point of this? What's the point of not supporting widescreen resolutions? EA maintains it's because widescreen users would have an advantage. Give me a break. In-game ads in 2142? Wait...I'm wrong there; I mean in-game *spyware* in 2142? No way am I supporting this gluttonous company's shoddy products. The day EA closes up shop or dramatically reforms itself will be a glorious day for gamers and the industry in general.

True. I'm excited about Quake Wars, but I'm not exactly planning my next rig for it. Truth is, DM:MM is an absolute blast right now and I'm anxiously awaiting Project Offset.

Quake Wars will just be nice to give me the BF2-style only "done right".
