No, our challenge is greater - it?s to speak out so loudly that Washington has no choice but to make choices worthy of this great country - choices worthy of the sacrifice of our neighbors in the Gulf Coast and our troops all around the world.

Had Kerry delivered a speech like this during his Presidential campaign...one that articulated such a clear vision for the nation, while objectively criticizing the shortcomings of his opponent, he would have won...hell, I would vote for any candidate who calls for all politicians to rise above partisan ideology to do what is best for the nation.

Unfortunately, the message is lost in Washington, even by the very man communicating such a vision...maybe we should consider electing the person who wrote this speech, as he/she clearly gets it.

All polititians say that. Once I see Kerry "rising above partisan ideology", maybe I'll start to believe him. I'm not holding my breath though.

Funny how many Democrats are calling for just that after the big screw up in New Orleans. Do you think they can see their future in that crystal ball and want to move the focus? Remember that on all more obscure issues, they have been the major finger pointers. Funny they would reform so completely, so quickly.

News flash! Humanitarian work pays BIG bucks with less risk and a lot less work. The biggest, most expensive house I ever visited in Washington belonged to a charity worker. Get some of the big fish to do complete exposes on national TV and you will be shocked. Like gun grabbers with six armed guards or lately, tree huggers driving big SUV's. Cynacal? No, a realiswt.

I don't remember that, just the potato incident. But I remember him being a fairly good speaker. No Clinton mind you, but no dubya either.
