I've been transitioning from jogging to indoor cycling the past 2 months. I enjoy cycling and I go on avg 15 miles per workout. I just wonder what are the advantages/disadvantages of indoor cycling vs jogging?
Cardio wise they're both good. The advantage running has is that it works the support muscles a bit better (with the obvious disadvantage in the knees). Cycling is a very planar motion, so you'll want to incorporate some lateral off the bike exercises to balance your development if you work out a lot.
Do you have a particular goal in mind besides general fitness?
It's awesome that you lost so much weight already! One thing you might consider is doing some lower body work with the weights before spinning once a week. It might help you go through the easier to get at energy and burn more fat in the spinning. Done with a solid amount of weight it also helps recruit more muscle fibers for the spinning part.
You could also have a longer spinning session to spend more time using fat as a fuel source, but hour+ long indoor spinning can be tedious and kill motivation.
