I haven't seen it myself, but I have read rather favorable reviews of it though.

Kudos to Kevin Smith for caling Joel Siegel out, it was a pretty asstatic thing of Siegel to do.

I just got back from watching Clerks II. I laughed my ASS off! Funniest movie of the year. The scene where Elias is trying to explain why he can't have sex with his girlfriend was priceless... 😀

Watched it last night as well - excellent movie and very true to the overall Clerks' feel.

American culture is such garbage now though. Imagine living in the times of the great classical music composers and shakespeare etc.

Uhhh....no

Imagine having a username like mchammer...ugh🙁

Clerks 2 was funny as hell, it lacked a lot of the cool inflective conversations that clerks 1 had, but it delievered big time on the laughs.

clerks 2 was good stuff. i walked in expecting a rehash of j&sb strike back but this was more, clerks with a dash of jersey girl (or maybe mallrats).

oh, and seeing jay (mewes) say he'd hook up with emma (aka jennifer schwalbach aka kevin smith's wife) so many times was just hilarious to me, even if it was scripted.

I got to see her boobies, even though it was scripted

And I am thoroughly disgusted that "Little Man" has made more money both weekends it's been open than Clerks II did in it's opening weekend.
But at least the budget was something like $5 million and it pulled in $9.6 million already.

Honesty, Kevin Smith is a one trick pony. Clerks had its place, unfortunatly that place was 12+ years ago in a universe that had re-introduced mainstream society to independent filmmakers. The fact that Smith is going back to Clerks proves that he only has one trick up his sleeve, and one good idea in his head.

Mallrats was ok for its time, and Dogma was not the wost thing that I ever saw. Chasing Amy.... yuck.. and Jersey Girl..total crap.

So what happens when you cannot grow as a director/writer... You make Jay and Silent Bob srike back.... Wow, how new and original. Like those are new and exciting characters. Clerks 2 just proves my point...

Yeah, I tend to agree. Kevin Smith is highly overrated IMO - even his best work is mediocre, and his worst movies are pure crapola.

Haha exactly, it was cheap to make so doesn't take much to profit.
