If Ron DeSantis gets the GOP nomination I think he'll win the election. The D's really screwed the pooch when it comes to the economy and energy curtailing domestic drilling when we need more useable output to counter OPEC and insulate ourselves from foreign influence in the absence of a viable alternative.

I’m 33 and fit and bumped the hell out of my nose into the doorframe while standing up from putting my dog’s food down this morning. So what?

It is pathetic that people point and laugh at things like this like middle school bullies. Unreal that bumping his head is news and that people actually read it.

Seriously. I bumped my head just the other day on some random shit I do all the time. I will be the first to say Biden has lost a step and think the Dems are way too politically inept in not trying to find a more dynamic and inspiring younger nominee, but bumping his head on something as a form of criticisms is just pathetic. The right wing are just horrible people.

Seriously?

In early 2023, there were over 6,600 approved and unused drilling permits. There are tons of unused drilling permits that oil companies in the US can start using.

In the interest of fairness, Biden originally claimed over 9,000, but it was later corrected to just over 6,600. The White House blamed a transition to new a new database that caused the discrepancy.

Also in the interest of fairness, some of those leased drilling permits probably don't have viable oil deposits.

People can't stomach Ron DeSantis. Look at his polls. Look at his personality. Look at the lack of both polls and personalty.
GW Bush, despite being the moron, GW had a kind of swagger about him that seemed to appeal to some people, plus his drunken college buddy thing going on. DeSantis has noting. In fact, if Webster's Dictionary dropped the word WOKE, DeSantis would be left speechless. Not a word to say.
I hate Trump, but when Trump called out DeSantis on using the woke word Trump pretty much took the woke-wind out of Ron's sails.

When the two finally debate, one on one, it's going to be a blood bath. Ron had best stick to what he knows, Florida. That is, while it lasts.

Yes. In his bizarro world, record low unemployment and a continued drop in the inflation rate means a messed up economy. Passing one of the largest infrastructure investment bills in modern history with an investment into alternative energy some how increases our dependency on opec.

It’s really getting old having to deal with these freaken idiots and their alternative realities.

If you are going to blame Biden for high oil prices them show your work. Meanwhile this chart gives a rational explanation for gas prices.

Oh look boys, someone who is eating the bullshit platter prepared by the right wing dishonesty caterers, using a shovel. You really need to go do some research, make sure you understand what the information is telling you because nothing said here, is factual.

I mean, the first part of that statement is likely true. If Desantis can somehow thread the needle, I think he has a better than even chance of beating Biden. He doesn't have the same negatives that Trump does, and he'll probably pull more moderates/undecideds. All the polling I've seen (I know, far out still) supports that with like ~5pt swing improvements from Trump's #s.

Now, the rest is utter bullshit.

I think DeSantis would have a better shot at winning than Trump but I'm not sold on his strength as a candidate. He seems to have a very off-putting personal affect and while that shouldn't matter, it clearly does (Al Gore springs to mind). I expect his negatives to go way up if he's the nominee.

All he has to offer is culture war nonsense and fascism, I don't think that's enough to get him past the goal line.

My take is that either candidate will send the Ds to the polls in droves.

his positions are more MAGA than Trump. So called moderates will be voting for Joe all day long with his extreme views that he already put out. He basically said he would subjugate the DOJ and FBI to his will.

I said energy and electricity costs have soared under this administration as well as they try to force us to the green team. Then consider what is going on in the labor markets as good paying jobs are leaving in droves and the commercial real estate market is simultaneously crashing right before our eyes.

Again, maybe in bizarro world.

Lol... "green team" has nothing to do with any of that. Those are the after-effects of Putin's invasion of Ukraine and of the loose monetary policy during the pandemic. The former drove up energy costs while the latter led to inflation and higher interest rates. Those higher rates have led to corporate cost-cutting which includes layoffs and and a growing acceptance of remote work.

Did you actually look at that chart of just regurgitating talking points?

Did you notice the flip in the cost of oil vs the cost of gas? Just ignoring it?

I'll help you out. Oil companies are profitieering. Taking advantage of the instability caused by COVID when oil contracts went negative for a while.

If you actually look at facts, oil production was on a steady rise since Obana and was upended then Covid hit.

Why don't you focus more on facts vs spreading misinformation.

The best part is Republicans pretending they still support freedom and economic conservatism while all their front-running candidates run on platforms of suppressing freedoms in favor of their Christian nationalist culture war.
