Jock Itch

The boys have been sensitive lately. Itching only makes it worse. The doc says everything?s OK and prescribed pramosone 2.5% lotion. It isn?t cheap but it works. What do you guys use to cool things down (so to speak)?

Never had jock itch, however i did get poison ivey down there. I was horsing around in the woods and then scratched my balls before washing my hands..... Generious portions of calamine lotion and hot baths.

the generic spray worked for me. I recommend using Gold Bond on your boys if you are going to be sweating and all that.

Change to white cotton underwear till it clears up. The dye in other colors can keep the fabric from breathing and hold in the moisture.

Some how using Gold Bond on the jewels seams strangely appropriate.

Honestly I've found that sleeping naked helped. I think the constant sweating in the Phoenix heat kept them damp all day, causing the itch. Sleeping naked let everything air out and the itch went away.

What did you do to get them to itch?

Goldbond does work good but doesn't work worth shit on your feet.

This is going to be one of those TMI threads...

I sit for long periods of time and they get irritated.

I am thinking you don't know what jock itch is...
I know but that's what the doc called it. Maybe it should have been called indolent itch?

I also got poison ivy on mine, from getting it on my hands, not knowing it and going to the bathroom. It was miserable, but the best thing you can do is simply not touch it.

Sometimes the topical analgesic stuff will stop the itching, but I don't know how your junk would like that...might burn...hell, that might be better than the itching, though.

Baby powder can help with that, not sure what a manly alternative to a baby powder would be though.

Wikipedia link so that everyone understands what it is.

I had Tinea Versicolor for years and finally got it looked at when I got something burned off of my shoulder. The doctor gave me Ketocanizole (or something like that) and it cleared right up.

Gold bond powder would probably work, I'll grab some the next time the itch reappears.

BOOM! Touch Actin' Tinactin

Although it burns like crazy when you actually use it. But the burn must mean its working right?

Powder works well after the itch is cleared up to keep it from coming back.

Thank you for that.

I've been meaning to make an appointment with the doc for this.
