Congratulations, but . . . Project Manager? D: It's one of the most stressful positions in my field, although I'm sure you'll get paid handsomely. 🙂

I worked very closely with a PM over a data center that had 300,000 sqft of raised floor space and he was kept pretty busy. It was also for eBay who changed their mind about every 5 minutes. This DC is about 1/20th the size so I am hoping its a little bit more manageable.

Thank you, my kids are pretty low maintenance so that helps a lot, although my 5 year old daughter is responsible for the premature graying of my hair.

Just wait...daughters are God’s revenge on fathers for the kind of men they were when they were young. 😀

You're going to learn to hate teenage boys...

Anyway...congrats on the job offer...may it be everything you hope it will be...and more.

Congrats dude, here's to the road to big bucks of the PM land.

Remember, all you'd need to be a PM is the ability to not get to work incoherent, can write decently, know how to manage your calendar, and know where your forms are stored. That's it!

Thats the plan.

Congtars. Sounds like a pretty ideal setup

Maybe it's just my industry or bad luck, but from what I've seen far, the PMs that have their PMP cert are noticeably worse than average non-cert PM. Just don't forget your roots and what you learned as a manage-ee and you'll be fine

Awesome news. I happen to live in the same area and got a new job very recently as well for a pretty amazing company. Huge raise with amazing benefits and stock options. The tech industry is really crazy good here. Best thing for me is moonlighting as a contractor for my old company so 2016 is going to be a high income year for me.

Good for OP but how come he has never helped any participant to electrocute himself? I am sure we can name few who can use is OP's help!

Dude thats awesome. I am not going to lie, the money, while better, is the last thing I care about. My bills are so low. All I care about is a job I am happy with, time off with my kids, and good healthcare. I was willing to take a 10k paycut to get this job, instead its about 20k more.

5min commute is worth many thousands a year right there.
Nice!

no kidding

if i lived 5 minutes away from work, i would have an additional... 1.9 weeks per year of time.

holy crap, that's an extra year of free time over a 30 year career
