I got a job, start next week!!!!!!!

Not that I got "a" job as I am currently employed. It is that I got a job on a tugboat.

This is inland waters, local rivers, local ports, on the boat for 2 weeks off for 1 week.
Awesome....be safe.

Great man! No more whining ;)

congrats! So its one week at sea two weeks at home?

Awesome....be safe.

Thank guys.

Two weeks on the boat and then 1 week at home.

Lock and load! Congrats!

Say, they don't have internet on them boats, do they? <crosses fingers>

I have internet on my phone.

But dont worry, I do not like posting stuff using my phone. It is a samsung mini and the keypad is very small.

Hopefully this job will keep me busy, help me lose some weight and get back into shape. I gained 40 - 50 pounds in the past 10 years at my current job.

No more desk job.

A lot of time you are lucky to have even time to sit.

People think work on a boat is like this:

when it's really like this:

Congrats! So how did you find the job?

Beats flipping burgers, cleaning toilets or bagging groceries.

Wow cool, happy for you. Sounds like great way to see some of the USA. Nothing like a change in life like that to reset the id. I need to do that.

You have the name of the boat river or body of water your working on?

Congrats on escaping the desk!

The Luna Bar and Grill is pretty good on Ryan St in Lake Charles. Other than that, just burn the whole nasty place down.

Thank you.

There is a guy who goes by the name of meow man. He uses a drone to make videos about ships and tugboats.

One of his videos - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GThUyvlinbA

At the 3 minute mark the sun goes down, lights on the tug, city lights in the distance, flag flying high,,,,.

I must confess that the image I have of an inland tug does not match this picture.

Looks awesome though. I'm now considering a career change. I have moderately busy ports all around me. I want to be on the gun crew.

btw, congratulations TH. I'm glad you got the job you were looking for.
