I took my car there once for an oil change because it was due and the shop I usually get it done at was closed. I'm never going there again, not because they did a poor job but because their employees look like high school dropouts. Just don't trust my car with them anymore.

This happened to me at 2 Jiffy Lubes. They try to sell you the expensive oil and say your manufacturer recommends it. Last time I took my car to the Honda dealership I asked them if they recommend that oil and they said NO, they are trying to make extra money.
Then of course they tried to sell me more junk. Wanted to replace my air filter from my heater inside the car for $50 and also change my transmission oil.
No, I'll just take the regular oil and nothing else.
This same thing happened at 2 different Jiffy Lubes. Don't think it will be long until we see a lawsuit against them.

Up yours buddy.
not up his, up yours since Jiffy Lube just went up yours. and they didnt use any lube either. oh wow...thats another false advertising for you to complain about.
but seriously, learn how to change your own oil. its rather simple and you end up saving money too
Meh. Do it yourself anyway. Hell, dealerships are no better most of the time (for oil changes anyway).Originally posted by: sourceninja
i have new cars under warrenty. I only let the dealer do all work on them. This includes only changes. They offer 9.99 oil changes and other perks. Plus if there is a quesiton on maitence, they did it all and have all the records. They can't tell me the jiffy lub guy did something wrong.

LOL. Learn to change the oil yourself. It's a rather simple process that entails removing a oil pan bolt, placing a bucket or something to use to drain the oil, removing the filter, replacing the filter, and then the bolt and filling your engine with new oil.
The problem isn't changing the oil, it's disposing of the old oil.
i know my local Pep Boys, Autozone, and Advanced Auto Parts all take used oil for free
And you do everything in life by yourself then? I don't believe it. Just some griefers as usual.

when i was with my ex we took her car to jiffy lube cause she had one of those coupons.. the people there were complete a-holes. basically, everything went well until right after they changed the oil. after that they tried to tell her that she needed to flush and refill the transmission and radiator fluids as well as new fuel and air filters. It was all total bull and he kept telling us that if we didnt do it then and there the car was going to break down and we were going to regret it. after about 10 minutes of this crap, i had to raise my voice and tell him to just GIVE ME THE KEYS SO WE CAN LEAVE

Also, god knows what crap they put in ur car. That'd be funny if they took the oil you brought to them for recycling and used it to do oil "changes"...

That's what they use around here, reclaimed (recycled) oil. And you're supposed to pay how much for this?

...and then paying someone to take your used oil...when you finally find someone that will take it!
