No, absolutely not. In general I avoid anything with an NFPA health risk of 4 or a reaction risk above 2, and HF is absolutely horrifying. I limit myself to things in the same categories as I've actually used under supervision in a lab.

I've always heard stories about HF and H2SO4, but looks like there is a big difference when it comes to tissue and bone. I was not aware. Still, all of those horrible acids have vapors that will melt your lungs. This is the second time I've been surprised by some chicken in this thread.

And yet bases are often worse. I should get some chicken and see what the potassium hydroxide mix I use to make mortar for my kiln will do to it. It's pretty concentrated.
