Baik is a Korean last name I think.

Yeah but it's spelled Baek, far as I know. Putting an 'al' in front of nouns is what Arabs do though, means "the"

Apparently it's a restaurant chain based out of Jeddah, Sa'udi Arabia.

"Albaik currently has a trade name in 80 countries. The chain was founded by Shakour Abu Ghazalah, a Palestinian-Saudi entrepreneur,"

It's the Palestinian chicken!

Albaik is not in Canada xd

Also, Baik is an alternate spelling of Baek. Phonetical translation is not very reliable.

I mean look at how many ways this surname can be spelled depending on where you are from.

It would seem they've licensed out as per that trade name status in 80 countries perhaps? Or does Red Squirrel have a copy cat restaurant near him instead? Former employee flees the kingdom, opens chicken place in Ontario. I've heard of stranger.

Fair enough on the variations of Baik, but there's no spelling of it that features an "Al" in front of the rest, in Korean, wouldn't you agree?

Have you informed Red Squirrel of this?

It is far more likely the guy's name is Al, like Al Bundy xd. Koreans first started settling in Canada in the 1890s.

Of course it is also possible someone named their joint Al Baik after the Saudi chain.

So is this like the chicken equivalent of that Dubai chocolate and pistachio concoction maybe? The one that's been all the rage, lately?

Well whatever is going on over there it looks mad delish - yes, please. I am a complete shawarma slut and everything else looks korean fried chicken level awesome. They do big platters too.

Edit again: Aha! Looks like we have a copycat gentlemen, and his name isn't Al, it's

Muhammad Ozair Khan

I still want this man's chicken.

Wow, someone actually opened a Al Baik franchise in Timmins first? Beating out Toronto? I may have to go to Mississauga and try it. Broasted (pressure fried) chicken is yum.

I love Shawarma and kabob and have good restaurants that serve them near me.

Wait, this looks like copycat. Not the same founder nor same logo.

I love good broasted chicken. T here's a place in Hoodsport, WA, about 75 miles from me that does arguably the best broasted chicken and jo-jos in western WA.
