It is timeless, completely practical. Off the countertop, windowsill, table and out of the way.
yep people understimate the usefulness of such a device. music while cooking through an integrated system sounds better than the anemic speakers in something like a home pod or sonos.

How's the bluetooth on it? I considered ordering one for my current home. I'd need to run some wire for fascia fit speakers or plop them next to it .
I works fine I guess. Not really much to compare it to. I mostly just stream podcasts from my phone. The speakers on it are terrible for music and it doesn't keep accurate time.

Not an issue. the one we had back then was wired into recessed speakers in the kitchen. dunno if these newer ones are similar but I'd think they have an out audio jack or bare terminal hookups. Doing one now would be a time suck and may go with a media closet instead at this point for ease of use.
