Octopus are so damn cool. I have only seen one when scuba diving and it was so cool to see it moving around the rocks and changing colors.

Oh I always that just touching them is what did it, not them having to bite you. Still I wouldn't touch or pick up any animal or bug in Australia, like even the fucking birds there have poisoned feathers. Something that is mostly all black but has some red on it if I recall...

It's the things without the clear warning colors that worry me. Even people with good observation skills can miss a stone fish. A cone snail shell looks like just another shell to a little kid.

Long time ago as a kid I was snorkeling with my mom in the Maldives, watched from 8-10ft away as she righted herself to stand and almost stepped on one. As I'm freaking out and warning her she spooks two more that neither of us saw. I hear getting tagged by one of those guys is some of the most painful stuff you can go through. Box jelly fish territory.
