What am I missing here? The answer is 9, now I'm confused how people are getting anything different? It's a very simple problem solved by the order of operations that 9 year old's learn?

2(3) = order of operations says parenthesis first so if that's the case, many think you multiply those before doing the left side. But apparently that's wrong because you have to convert that to 2*3 instead and then it's not done first.
