Eh, there is some truth to it though. Most people are too stupid to understand the concept of paying off debt early to save on interest. They receive a bill for $x. They pay $x.

Even if it's a credit card with 25% interest, they still see that "minimum payment" amount and just do that.

Ultimately, I see some decent advice there - in that making sacrifices such as not getting new cars, getting income by other means (renting out your place and living in a lower cost of living place), and not going out to eat every week can really help you get off debt much quicker.

Uh, everything was gifted to them, including her nepotistic stroll into that job, lol. You can't easily do smart things like rent out your house and move in with mom unless mom just gives you that house. That's the problem with this statement and especially her claim at the end: "If I can do it, you can too!" No, just no. Essentially no one (that would maybe benefit from such advice) can do what she did.

yeah, this is "kinda old." and one those groan-worthy pieces of preposterous advice in the debt, financial responsibility world along the lines of Susan Orman.
Susan is pretty good compared to others.
